Getting Started

Why should I join this event?

It's a flexible, feel-good way to stay active for a cause. Move at your own pace over 45 days, walk or run anywhere, unlock eco-rewards, and support the Garden City Fund with every registration — all while celebrating Singapore's City in Nature vision alongside a national community.

Who is it for — do I need to be a runner?

Everyone — all ages and fitness levels, walkers and runners, in Singapore or overseas. There's no pace or finish-time pressure: the first milestone is 36 km over 45 days, under 1 km a day. Go at your own pace.

Is there a minimum age? Can my children join?

There's no age limit — the Singapore City in Nature Challenge is a family-friendly event. We warmly encourage parents to register their kids and clock the distance together as a family. (For under-13s, a parent or guardian registers and manages the account.)

Can I do it with friends or my company?

Absolutely — rally friends and family to join and cheer each other on. Organisations can take part together too as part of a corporate & CSR effort; see the options on the home page.

What do I get?

An event tee with every registration, the option to add a reclaimed-wood Heartwood Medallion and more, plus digital rewards — a personalised e-Certificate, e-badges and finisher titles — and the good feeling of helping grow a greener Singapore. See the race kit.

The Challenge

When is the challenge period?

The 45-day window runs 31 Oct 2026 – 14 Dec 2026. Log distance any time within it.

Can I walk instead of run?

Yes. Walking, running and hiking all count, anywhere in the world, on any route. It's cumulative — a daily walk counts as much as a training run.

Can I cycle, skate or do other activities?

No — only walking, running and hiking count. Cycling, skating, swimming and similar don't qualify; the challenge is about distance covered on your own two feet.

Do I have to finish all 360 km?

No. 36 km (Cross the Island) is the first finisher milestone — about 0.8 km a day. The 150 km and 360 km tiers are optional stretch goals. Any milestone reached within the 45-day window earns its badge and finisher title.

Do I have to run in a park, PCN or green space?

Not at all — log your kilometres anywhere in the world, on any route. We'd simply love it if you made the most of Singapore's beautiful, extensive green spaces: the parks, park connectors and nature reserves NParks has built are a gorgeous backdrop for the challenge.

Can I complete the challenge on a treadmill?

Yes, treadmill kilometres count. But since this is the City in Nature Challenge, we'd strongly nudge you to head outdoors and soak up the fresh air and greenery whenever you can.

What happens if I don't complete the challenge?

You'll still receive all your physical race items — those are guaranteed and shipped to you regardless. The digital rewards (your e-Certificate, e-badges and finisher titles) are earned by reaching the milestones, so those unlock as you complete the distance.

Registration & Pricing

How much does it cost?

Entry starts from S$27.90 (Super Early Bird) and rises as slots fill. Every tier includes an event tee; the Heartwood Medallion is an optional add-on (+S$12.90).

When does registration close?

Registration closes 30 Oct 2026, or earlier if slots sell out. Prices step up at each tier, so earlier is cheaper.

Is it open to participants outside Singapore?

Yes. It's fully virtual, so kilometres can be logged from anywhere. International shipping for entitlements is calculated at checkout.

Do you offer corporate or group discounts?

Yes — we love rallying teams. For corporate or group rates, drop us a note at heyrace@runsociety.com and we'll sort you out.

Submitting Activities

How do I submit my activity?

Log in to your Heyrace account and go to the submission page. Choose whichever method you prefer: manual submission — upload a screenshot of your activity — or a direct sync with Strava. Either way, every submission is validated automatically by the Heymetriq™ Engine.

Which apps are supported?

Healthy 365, Apple Fitness, Garmin Connect, Nike Run Club, Samsung Health, Fitbit, Coros, Strava and more — any app that shows the date, distance and activity type clearly.

What makes a submission valid?

Your screenshot should clearly show the distance and activity type (the date is optional, though helpful). Activities must fall within the challenge window, and duplicate or edited images are automatically flagged by the Heymetriq™ Engine.

Race Pack & Shipping

When do I receive my race pack?

Race packs ship in waves from mid-October 2026, in order of registration.

How much is shipping?

Delivery within Singapore is a flat S$4.99, and free for orders S$50 and above. International shipping is calculated at checkout.

What's in the race pack?

Every pack includes an event tee (recycled-blend polyester). Optional add-ons: the Heartwood Medallion, race singlet, “Wild Singapore” Art Tee and eco tote bag. See the Merchandise page.

I forgot to buy an add-on during registration. What now?

No problem — head back to the merchandise page and sign in with the same email you registered with. You'll be able to add any items you missed there.

What is your Refund & Exchange Policy?

All registrations are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable — this applies even if you don't take part or complete the challenge, so please double-check your details before registering. Because our race items are made to order, please choose your apparel size carefully. Entitlements can't be exchanged, returned or refunded unless the item arrives defective — report any defect within 24 hours of delivery with clear photos, and once verified we'll replace it free of charge (subject to returning the defective item). Apparel sizing exchanges are accommodated where the size you need is available: a $10 admin fee applies and return/resend shipping is borne by you. To request one, email heyrace@runsociety.com within 7 days of receiving your item.

Rewards & Charity

What is the medal made of?

The Heartwood Medallion is crafted from reclaimed, upcycled wood — never freshly-felled timber, never mined metal.

Where does my money go?

RunSociety pledges SGD 1 for every registration, plus another SGD 1 when you complete your 36 km, to the Garden City Fund — a registered charity by NParks supporting tree planting and habitat restoration. A maximum total contribution applies (see the disclaimer).

How does this event reduce waste and grow greenery?

Sustainability is built into the whole event, not bolted on: It grows greenery — every registration supports the Garden City Fund for tree planting and habitat restoration. The gear is made responsibly — recycled or recycled-blend materials, and a medal upcycled from reclaimed wood. Made to order — we produce only what's claimed, so there's no leftover stock headed for landfill (which is also why delivery takes a little longer). Minimal packaging — no unnecessary tags, and recycled plastic where needed.
